As we all know it is a common problem on android devices about battery consumption.

So here are some tips to improve your battery life.



1. Avoid apps that runs on background.
Some apps (facebook app for example.) Runs in background, even though you are not using them, they are still running! Why? they need to run in real-time. (oh yeah, those apps that needs real-time proccessing too.)
Ever wondered, why battery gets to low level even on stand by mode? You might've an app that runs on background, avoid that.

-Tamagochi
and many more..


2. Turn off wi-fi and mobile data indicator when not in use.
This is the same with the APPS that runs processes and services on background, this consumes most of the battery life so if not being used then turn it off.


3. LCD backlight.
Did you know? 40% of battery consumption is because of the LCD backlight alone? Can't beleive it?

Got to settings on your device the set the Backlight to Optimal, Then Set the brightness to automatic and balance battery consumption settings.

4. Clear Data.
Clear data/Free RAM, every 2 hours. (recommended.)
Use apps like Clean Master, thier FREE for RAM and data, Like CCleaner for PC.


5. Uninstall bloatwares. (for rooted devices)
Bloatwares are softwares that are pre-installed by the phone manufacturer, it can't be removed without rooting your android device so this is optional. This has something to do with background proccessing too. Some bloatwares runs in background even when uneccesary. So remove them if you would.

WARNING: delete only bloatwares NOT system-related softwares, it may cause malfunction to your device.


6. And Finally. DO NOT use Battery Saving app.
Don't be lazy, don't be fooled.

 The function of such app is like on what wriiten above (APPS). The problems is it also runs on background and consumes 10% of the battery life.


Note: Additional Info on app called "No-Frills CPU".
It's a nice app that optimizes your processor's speed, it can overclock or underclock the CPU.  It will also help problems on battery consumption, but some apps may crash or won't work at all, or maybe Lags the performance of your devices.

To set the transparent background on the icons, we’ll need to open System Properties in Control Panel (or right-click on My Computer and select Properties).


In this dialog, click the Advanced tab, and then the Settings button under the Performance section.

Now scroll down to the button where you’ll find a checkbox for “Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop”. Make sure you check this box if you want transparent backgrounds on the icons.
Why this option isn’t just labeled “Enable Transparent Icons On the Desktop”, I just can’t say.

if checking it doesn’t fix your problem there is another step you must do. Follow this procedure:
Control Panel > Display > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web > Uncheck everything here > OK > Apply

Nowadays, Chinese businessmen know that consumers do not prefer products "MADE IN CHINA", so they don't show from which country it is made. However, you may now refer to the barcode -

Follow the below steps to create bootable Windows 7/Vista USB drive using which you can install Windows 7/Vista easily.

Plug-in your USB flash drive to USB port and move all the contents from USB drive to a safe location on your system.
Open Command Prompt with admin rights. Use any of the below methods to open Command Prompt with admin rights.

*Go to Start menu > All programs > Accessories, right click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.

Don’t close the command prompt as we need to execute one more command at the next step. Just minimize it.
Next insert your Windows7/Vista DVD into the optical drive and check the drive letter of the DVD drive. In this guide I will assume that your DVD drive letter is “D†and USB drive letter is “H†(open my computer to know about it).
Maximize the minimized Command Prompt in the 4th step.Type the following command now:
D: CD BOOT and hit enter.
Where “D†is your DVD drive letter.
CD BOOT and hit enter again.
Type another command given below to update the USB drive with BOOTMGR compatible code.
BOOTSECT.EXE /NT60 H:
Where “H†is your USB drive letter.
Copy your Windows 7/Vista DVD contents to the USB flash drive.
Your USB drive is ready to boot and install Windows 7/Vista. Only thing you need to change the boot priority at the BIOS to USB from the HDD or CD ROM drive. I won’t explain it as it’s just the matter the changing the boot priority or enabling the USB boot option in the BIOS.

How to Hide Text Message in an Image File?

Hello friends, now i am going to teach you how you can hide text (Your message) in any image file, image file will look as normal, no measurable change of size, no damaged picture quality, no program needed, its free and happen in a few easy steps!
 
First open run and then type cmd, (Open cmd), now navigate the folder where you copied the files, one image file(with .jpg, .bmp, etc extensions) and one text file(which contains your message), navigate it by using this command, "cd" without "quotes".
 
For example, if your files are in "D" drive, then after opening cmd, type, D: and hit enter, now you are in your d drive, now if your folder name is hackalone, then, type cd hackalone and hit enter, now you are in the hackalone folder. 

Do this process to locate your files.
Now, the main step, make your image file and text file ready.
Type this command after navigating your folder,

copy /b imagefilename.jpg + textfilename.txt outputimagename.jpg

Type the exact code, but dont forgot to replace the few words, imagefilename.jpg with your image file name and with proper extension, textfilename.txt with your text file, outputimagename.jpg your output image name, use whatever you want, but remember to use right extension.

All done, your message is now hidden, no one can say that the image file contains a message by looking the image, no quality loss, full gain!

But, how to view it?
Open the image with notepad, and go to last, and see the last line, your message will be at the last, read it and get protected.

Please note that, opening an image file of size 10 mb or more with notepad may freeze your system for few seconds, so keep patience.

Open Windows Admin Password from a Guest Account without any tool

* Go to C:/windows/system32
* Copy cmd.exe and paste it on desktop
* Rename cmd.exe to sethc.exe
* Copy the new sethc.exe to system 32,when windows asks for overwriting the file,then click yes.
When asked to overwrite,overwrite the sethc.exe

* Now log ut from your guest account and at the user select window,press shift key 5 times.

Rootkit Revealed

Rootkits have been associated with UNIX then Linux and today even with windows. Here in this post we will discuss tools and programs that are bundled with rootkits and their functions in short. The main job of rootkit is to provide an attacker unauthorized access to compromised system.
Once an attacker gets access to target system he/she may want to revisit system for some other malicious activities.

In general a rootkit is group of programs or tools like sniffers, keyloggers, spyware, remote administration, log cleaner, trace removers etc. Rootkit can crack the password at the admin level as well as exploit the system's vulnerability. A rootkit can compromise security of the affected system and can also violate its integrity. As mentioned earlier the main motive of rootkit is to allow repeated access of attacker to target system, installing RAT or backdoor process can serve to meet hacker this objective.

To facilitate continued access a rootkit may disable auditing and edit event log to hide its presence. Next to it, it can modify commands in UNIX and Linux system commands to make itself stealthy. It can also modify device drivers and can take over kernel even in runtime.

Now why an attacker thinks to plant a rootkit. The answer is very simple it provides undisputed and uninterrupted access, that too in super user mode, automatically sniffs important data from network, can easily hide inside command or process, can bypass nearly all security measures once installed.

The components of rootkit are installed either in user mode or in kernel mode. The user mode rootkit modifies system binaries whereas the kernel mode rootkit transforms the system calls from legitimate applications to output the attacker's data instead of the genuine data. Removal of rootkit is easy but not its payload. Rootkits can be removed using alternative drive other than which is infected or better way re-installing system.

An attacker needs administrative privileges to install rootkit in system, so its better to protect system before it gets compromised.

The Zip of Death

This is a exploit of the compression algorithms to make a small zip that will extract into extream amounts their are more ways and better ones than this one but i will only show how to make a simple 1k = 1m ratio.

1) Make a.txt file

2) Open and type the null character (alt + 255)

3) Press ctrl + a then ctrl + v a couple times to make some null bytes

4) If u have a hexeditor make the hex 00 for about 50 kilobytes.

5) Now make several copies of a.txt and name accordinly

6) Open cmd.exe

7) Type copy /b *.txt b.txt

8) Now every copy is made into a super copy and repeat

9) Once you have a nice empty big text file like 1gb. Put it in a zip archive.
Because of the simple construction of the file, 1gb of null bytes.....!

The zip is only 1 mb in size and can really annoy freinds.
For added fun hex edit the zip and you will see a bunch of hex 5555

Just add some more and the file will expand amazingly

You can always create your zip of death from the command line in linux
dd if=/dev/zero bs=1000 count=1000000 | gzip > test.gz

Folder Lock With Password Without Any Software

Paste the code given below in notepad and 'Save' it as batch file (with extension '.bat').
Any name will do.
Then you see a batch file. Double click on this batch file to create a folder locker.
New folder named 'Locker' would be formed at the same location.
Now bring all the files you want to hide in the 'Locker' folder. Double click on the batch file to lock the folder namely 'Locker'.
If you want to unlock your files,double click the batch file again and you would be prompted for password.

Nokia Communication Center - It allows you to access all your mobile phone messages and contacts.

This application is some what like Nokia Pc Phone , or you can say more than it.

It replaces four Nokia PC Suite features - Nokia Phone Browser, Nokia Text Message Editor, Nokia Contacts Editor, and Nokia Multimedia Factory - with one simple application for all.

Installation Requirement: You must have Nokia PC Suite version 6.85 or later installed for running this application.



BLUEJACKING



First up, you need to know what Bluetooth is. There are lots of types of modern devices that incorporate Bluetooth as one of their many features. PDAs, mobile phones and laptops are a few of these modern devices. Bluetooth means that Bluetooth enabled devices can send things like phonebook/address book contacts, pictures & notes to other Bluetooth enabled devices wirelessly over a range of about 10 metres. So, we’ve got past the boring part. Now, using a phone with Bluetooth, you can create a phonebook contact and write a message, eg. ‘Hello, you’ve been bluejacked’, in the ‘Name’ field. Then you can search for other phones with Bluetooth and send that phonebook contact to them. On their phone, a message will popup saying “‘Hello, you’ve been bluejacked’ has just been received by Bluetooth” or something along those lines. For most ‘victims’ they will have no idea as to how the message appeared on their phone.

Task Manager Tips

At first glance Task Manager looks like nothing more than a geeky way to tell you what you already know, the names of the programs running on your PC.

Explore out favorite Task Manager tricks, though, and you'll find all kinds of options for monitoring your system, detecting and resolving problems, especially in its most modern Windows Vista/Windows 7 incarnation. Here's what you need to know.

1. Browse your processes

Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to launch Task Manager. By default the first thing you'll see is the Applications tab, but this is misleadingly named and of little much use as it just lists top-level windows. If you want to see what's actually running on your PC then click the Processes tab, click "Show processes from all users", and scroll down the list. If you don't know what a process is then right-click it and select Properties to get more information, such as the folder where it's stored, which will usually offer additional clues.

2. Troubleshoot startup problems

Windows Media Player is known to crash from time to time (you may have noticed this). Occasionally it'll crash without having any visible window, though, so you won't see there's a problem. Then, when you come to restart the program, nothing will happen because it's blocked by the crashed copy in RAM.

If you find Windows Media Player won't launch, then, fire up Task Manager, click the Processes tab and look for a WMPlayer.exe process. If you find one, and there's no window, then it's probably crashed. Right-click it in Task Manager, select End Process, and once it's shut down you should be able to start Media Player as normal.

Much the same problem can happen with other applications, so if something won't start, or is just misbehaving, then it's always a good idea to look for previous instances of the program. Don't use the "End Process" on anything unless you're 110% sure that it's safe to do so, though - terminating something system-critical can lock up or crash your PC immediately.

3. View memory use

It's often interesting to see which programs are using all your RAM. To find out, click the Processes tab, then click View > Select Columns, and ensure Memory - Working Set and Memory - Private Working Set are checked. You'll now see two estimates for your processes use of RAM.

The first, "Memory - Working Set" shows you how much physical memory is currently being taken up by each process. Some of this RAM may be shared by other processes, though (shared DLLS, for instance) so this figure tends to overestimate memory use.

The second, "Memory - Private Working Set" shows you how much physical memory this process alone is using (that is, it can't shared with anyone else). It will almost certainly consume additional RAM, though, so this figure tends to underestimate memory use. It's a little more reliable than the Working Set alone, but really you need to see both.

Now click the "Memory (Private Working Set)" column header so the largest figures are at the top. You'll immediately get a good feel for where your RAM is going, and which programs (if any) you need to close or tweak to get some of it back.

4. Identify RAM-hogging services

Your list of processes should contain many called svchost.exe (if not, then you've not clicked "Show processes from all users"). This is the service host, a process that's used to run several Windows services. But what if this turns out to be grabbing large amounts of RAM? Which services might be to blame?

To find out more, right-click a particular svchost.exe and select Go To Services. Task Manager will open the Services tab and all the services managed by this particular instance of svchost.exe will be highlighted. Task Manager has no way to tell you how much each RAM each of the services are consuming individually, unfortunately, but this does at least greatly reduce your options. (And a hint: in most Windows Vista installations, ReadyBoost is by far the greatest resource-hogging service.)

5. Diagnose disk thrashing

Ever wondered exactly why your hard drive's been thrashing for ages, even though there's no-one at the PC? Click the Task Manager Processes tab, then click View > Select Columns, and check I/O Read Bytes and I/O Write Bytes. Click OK.

The new columns will show you the total amount of data read or written by a process, which applies to network activity as well as your hard drive. The busiest processes will have the largest figures, and if a process is active now then its totals will tick up as you watch.

6. Spot resource leaks

Sometimes processes grab more and more Windows resources, without ever quite getting around to releasing them. 32-bit Windows in particular has only a limited supply, and if this goes on for too long then your PC will become unreliable, then eventually lock up or crash.

Task Manager can help you spot a resource leak, though. Click the Processes tab, then click View > Select Columns, check Handles, User Objects and GDI Objects, and click OK. Now check these occasionally, along with the memory figures we mentioned earlier. Some of these may rise dramatically, on occasions - an antivirus tool will use many more handles when scanning, for instance, as they're used when accessing files - but if a particular resource figure is high, keeps rising, and never falls back to its starting point, then you may have a problem.

7. Stop a runaway process

If a particular process has gone rogue, using all your CPU time and reducing everything else to a crawl, then Task Manager may be able to help.

First, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc and wait for Task Manager to appear. If your runaway process is completely tying up the CPU then this can take a while, but if you don't want to reboot (you've an application with unsaved data, say) then be patient. We'd give it at least 10 or 15 minutes.

When Task Manager appears, look for the process consuming all your CPU time (click Processes, then click View > Select Columns and check CPU if that column isn't displayed). If you want to kill the process completely, then you could right-click it, select End Process and it'll die (most of the time).

This doesn't always work out as you expect, though. If the process is system-critical, maybe a Windows component, then terminating it may crash your system immediately (and it always introduces a risk of system instability). If you've data you need to save elsewhere then it may be better to try and slow down the rogue process, reduce its grab on your resources, so you can use other programs again and close everything down properly. Fortunately Task Manager can help here, too.

Right-click your CPU-hogging process, select Set Priority > Low, and Windows should immediately give more CPU time to just about everything else on your PC. The program will still be running, it just shouldn't interfere with other apps to the same degree, and they should be accessible again.

If there are still problems, right-click the process and select Set Affinity. This option lets you decide which CPU cores a process can use. If you clear one of these then that core will become available to other applications, which should significantly improve their performance.
